What exactly does “wash this out” mean? like, you wash the print in the washing machine after it’s printed and lots of it washes out?
Well Evan this is unlike most printing we do at the Copper Palate Press.
This is not an acrylic/pigment based print. Heat setting is not necessary.
This is a dye based print. there are ways to set the dye, similar to heat setting called Batching. this is done by steaming, ironing wet newsprint, or spraying newsprint and rolling in plastic, setting in a warm place to self steam.
After Batching, you do have to wash the fabric and get excess dye out. colors will change, usually lighten, bleeding may occur. after it is washed you dry and iron it. this will have the final color at its best.
